back to Canadian music!

on the bill today
is probably my favourite Canadian artist, Matt Mays

Matt sometimes goes by Matt Mays & El Torpedo.
To me, he's like a blend of Neil Young, Tom Petty, Rolling Stones and Gordon Lightfoot.


Here's a little fun fact for when you're watching; Matt wanted a gorgeous white Gretch guitar for the Cocaine Cowgirl video. Mike Campbell (Tom Petty's lead guitarist) offered to lend Matt his. Matt declined, fearing he would damage it somehow, but was able to find a suitable model for himself.

Fun Fact #2: Look for a cameo by Sam Roberts in the Angels Make Contact video. The two are good friends.
