my analysis on why i think bush will loose.
* 51% of the country voted for gore. I have yet to meet a gore voter who would vote for bush after what happend in 2000.
* disenfranchised bush voters: gay repubicans, fiscal conservatives, moderates. Its that old bush saying....fool me once....
* Muslim vote, the black vote, and now he is slowly loosing the hispanic vote (such as the cuban vote)
* gallop poll is inaccurate: they only poll likely voters....but state (specially swing states) have experienced record voter registrations of 3 to 4 times above normal. And still kerry has pulled ahead.
* people vote with thier pockets. There are just too many official unemployed, disallusioned unemployed, and under employed workers. And every tech workers knows someone who has been layed off and almost every tech worker I know has had a offshoring and/or layoff story to tell.
* gallop poll, by polling only likely voters based on the voter's record of previous voting, can only mirror the 2000 election. With this in mind the comparison to bush's ratings in feb 2001 (earlies gallop number i can find) and october 2004 show a VERY grim situation for bush:
2001 Feb 1-4
57% approve, 25% disapprove, 18% no opinion
2004 Oct 9-10
47% approve, 49% disapprove, 4% no opinion
I do believe that those who had no opinion before have made up their minds regarding who they approve of.
and the approval rating for bush has steadily been dropping since the debates.
interesting that the no opinions dropped to low single digits right after 9/11, talk about a wake up call. oh and bush had 90% approval rating after 9/11 as well. Amazing how he took such an amazing opportunity to take the goodwill of americans and the world for us, destroy it, and instead stir a deady hornets nest in the middle east.
but back to my list ....
* corporate america.....tax cuts mean nothing if the market is so unpredictable in it's mood swings. Corporations do not like crazy uncertanty in the economy thanks to bush's policies.
I know there is more but i cant remember right now.....i am dizzy ...i will have to regain my energy and continue this later.
here is an interesting directory (found it when looking for a democrat donkey picture)
