I recently (re-)read that, "every smidgen of our universe effects every other. From this viewpoint there is no inside or outside. Everything is contained in consciousness which has no boundaries."
Whether it's talking about moving your stuff with conscious (and unconscious) intention, or changing the outcome of things by observing them, it makes me question my ambition. Is the squeeze really worth the juice? Perhaps its just the diversity of interests that's the problem; I let go of being proficient with automobiles a long time ago when I really got into computers, but generally I'm not good at 'letting go.'
I'll read for a bit, then stop to make music which leads to programming and change from computer language to foreign language where I decide I can't communicate well enough in my own language and write something, but searching for words or knowledge I change again to reading...
