well when it comes to volovo's, do you like droping kids off at soccer practice? When it comes to fishy buisness, well, do you get to eat the fishes when you are done? if you dont get to eat the fishes, I would say go home and eat fishes. Remember big fish eat the little fish, which fish are you?
aww, you're the sweetest! and yes, we do have to hang out! i'm sure our paths will cross one of these days. i'm at neo most thursdays...sometimes followed by exit, and i've taken to going to innjoy on monday nights.
1) If you had a time machine or a spaceship, is there any time/place to which you would consider traveling even if there was no chance of return? When there were dinosaurs. I love dinosaurs very muchly.
2) pocket giraffe or talking pumpkin? Pocket giraffe, then I would always have a sidekick
3) Name a guilty pleasure that doesn't involve food and that most people might find "odd"
Im a big fan of cartoon network. I dont know, I cant think of anything good.
...i got america's biggest woodpecker right here, paly
seriously, though, excellent to make your acquaintance good sir! and good news about the pecker! that's an awesome field you've taken up, my man - read any jared diamond at all? i study history myself, but i think that the fragmentation of knowledge will yet be out undoing. that's why i like diamond - how can you have history without biology, without earth sciences? (this from a died-in-the-wool historical materialist, btw - big surprise, right?)
anyway, we can be snooty academics later - here's what's REALLY going on: if you're building a 140 (you said 140, right?) then maybe you can offer an opinion or two on the matter of SU carbs. i just installed a B20 of nefarious origin (purportedly from a '73 P1800) and converted it from injectors back to the original carbs from my '67 122 - essentially made a B20B out of B20F (i think - more on this later). the question is, what the fuck is the right needle designation for the B20B with dual SU HS6's??? evidently they only put those carbureters on those engines in those years in canada, and the rest of the carburated B20's had Zeniths or SU HIF6's... so far, my best sleuthing abilities have only turned up the KN designation for this engine, but only from one source, as of yet totally unconfirmed by ANYONE - i am a little skeptical because the KN needles have a spring-loaded seat, whatever the fuck that is... there are some serious SU guys in NY that i tried to talk to, but their only advice was "send us your set for a complete rebuild" - fuckers.
...little help?
either way, glad to know there's another volvo head on the site. most people just don't get the beauty of the mighty indestructible swede...
i just went back and rechecked your comment - so it's a '73 142e! we may in fact have exactly the same engine!
that IS kinda strange...
curious: are you going to keep the injectors or carburate it? also, do you have the B20E or B20F, and is there a quick visual way to identify which is which to your knowledge? (see above re "more later") my understanding is that the E has a shorter head, and in turn higher compression, and so is quite the sought-after racer - but i don't know how to tell by looking at it. i'll source the serial number if i have to but laziness prevails most days...
