Merry Christmas One and All...I say this now since it looks like it will be a better season for me than previously expected. The job I was hoping to get after two months of interviews and paperwork has come through and I start the "Onboarding Process" Monday morning......So that's good...
BUT, I now live in Oakland with roommates...I am moving forward. This is not new and I think I have mentioned it here before but 'tis the season to divest of old stuff...Ed, my non-practicing Jewish roommate (except for Bat/Bar Mitvahs and the Holy Days) is fine...great guy, interesting and can converse and drink at the same time...
Now Laurie, my landlord/roommate is another story. She seemed fine for a few weeks then put her reasonable personality in storage and now I'm dealing with her trash sorting compulsion, her heater at full blast just so she can have heat in her bedroom compulsion as well as her rebuild both bathrooms at the same time in the middle of winter compulsion... ...She just had to move a ladder from the only functional shower we have so that I could use it...
Oh well, Joy to The World and all that crap right?...
Perhaps the extra money I will have with the new job will motivate me to find a better quality of roommates...
Ed has the right idea...His lady friend has her own place so he spends three nights a week with her and gets a discount on the rent here...The woman I want to live with is a bit further than cross-town...But perhaps that will change one day as well...I thought 2010 was going to be better than 2009...It was in some ways but it was a year of so many more changes that the good stuff barely held it's own...Here's to more good stuff in 2011...
Did I mention the turn up volume on the stereo in the living room so she can here it while she paints the bathroom in the back of the house compulsion?...Listen...see?...
