The sun actually came out yesterday. Just long enough to get me through the Brewing Network Winter Beer Festival held at Linden Street Brewing...It was well attended and the parking lot is a wierd shape due to the easement that Amtrack holds next door so the logistics were poor. This is only the first attempt by any of the planners at this sort of thing so I am sure mistales now will equal greater success in the future...
Speaking of Amtrack, I giggled at the writing on one of these old train wheels as I walked to the beer...I'm not quite sure what a "Loco Idler" is...but it sounds like some of the people I was about to hang out with...
There were many great beers and the price was right...Russian River unveiled "Rejection", a malty and slightly sweet beer with a hint of bitterness at the end...Just in time for Valentine's Day...
Many beers also brewed in honor of Bill Brand, a local beer writer who was run down by one of our light rail vehicles last year...He would have liked one or two...I'm sure that death could not quiet his critical tongue...but we all liked him...
Here's a picture from behind the scenes...sort of...many brewers in this picture...They make handy door-stops...just add beer...
I met some rather interesting people while waiting in line...no pics..couldn't talk, drink and work the camera at one time.....Two young ladies who were together in line ahead of me introduced themselves as "Lesbians Who Suck Cock"..I told them they need a catchy acronym..."LWSC" just isn't going to cut it...
They explained that they hook up with straight men for blow jobs only...No...they did not offer me one...
But apparently there is a current sub-culture among lesbians that are into this...they tried to explain the rationale and attraction for there kink...but they got their beers and were off...It was the most original conversation I had all day...
This was the band...they were very good actually...imagine Blues Traveler meets Red Hot Chili Peppers playing polkas...The bad image was not from my unsteady hand but from the vibration from the speakers...they were good but a bit loud...
Met some old aquaintances and made some new connections...no the lesbians did not come back...
My pal John and I met up with some people who tried to give us directions to the after-party...I know Oakland very well...I knew there was no bar at 3rd and Broadway...but we walked there anyway...Finally found it...a block off and below 3rd and Broadway...The beer was good and the service fast...
See how fast????
This was our "direction giver"...smile...
She was not happy with the teasing...but she did give us a ride to BART...
Here is a picture of the men's room wall at the bar...
I need a better class of friends......but they ARE cheap...

But I would like to get into a beer I can get at a bar and that is cheaper then a mixed drink.(and easier to order) I think my tastes are just far to pricey for that though.
Yes, corset.
I am sorry there will be no beer fest for you this weekend. That is stinky.
