Just got back from the SFBEERWEEK Kickoff Party at Anchor Brewing...A brewer and media only event...I felt so "insider"...Now I know how Clio feels... 
A special strong ale that is aged in their own whiskey casks (they distill as well) was served along with all of their other beers and the wonderful Maytag blue cheese. Good thing I only had a salad for lunch. 
It was fun to meet new folks as well as see people I hadn't seen for awhile...until I remembered why I hadn't seen them for awhile... 
The week is alive with events all across the bay area...over 150 as of 6 p.m. this evening according to event organizers...If you want a deal on beer in the bay area this week you can't help but find it..along with about 3,000 other people... 
I even met some folks I may be working with soon as I attempt to try and bolster my income while remaining in the brewing industry...which is an idea bordering on the moronic...I won't even insult the term "oxymoronic" by using it in this sentence. ...Oh well, it takes a smart man to know when he's being an idiot...
In addition to the slow sipping strong ale, I did manage to find a number of quaffable 
brews while grazing at the salami and cheese fountain...Just kidding, there was no fountain...
If you see me this upcoming week, come up and shake my hand or slap my face and walk away...I love to make my few friends wonder what I really do on my days off...
