Ahhhh, Sunday...but not just any Sunday. Even the cat is awake! Something must be afoot. Yes, cookies...I love the chaos, ritual and sensory experience of cookies in the oven. Something very comforting, sensual and even a bit romantic about baking cookies. Maybe all that warm, aroma heavy air floating around. Or the idea of a warm place, friends around and stealing a kiss from a new friend...and then she returns it...Ahhhh, Sunday.

I usually am a bit melancholy on Sundays, but today is a good day. I have a bit of time to myself..to do what I want...well almost what I want... And feeling uplfted by the warmth and scent of chocolate and spices. Christmas time is always a heady time of year but the last few have been less than stellar..I just wasn't in the mood I guess...But this year has been different and will continue to be different...I just have a good feeling.

I'll work tommorow and tell all the folks at work the usual list of holiday platitudes...yet the miracle of Christmas...what ever it is to each of us, is working on me this year...about damn time...I might even be needing to go and break out my dusty dvd of "It's A Wonderful Life"...While I can't yet say that my year or my life has come full circle, it certainly is about to make a sharp turn...better than the straight down hill run I've been on for awhile...Merry Christmas to all....
