this has happened to me once and it pretty much knocked me for six. on the other hand since then i have been able to see it coming and stepped back to give my self some room from the person in question. the way i usually deal with it is giving myself distance. it seems to work, although yup it still hurts.
concentrate on looking after yourself, do something exciting every day to make yourself happy. I know that sounds lame but it works for me. the worst thing in the world is to sit around thinking about it.
