This link of connection or metaphysical axis is a very common symbol found in all religions, everywhere and in mythology. It is like a spine that unites all kingdoms, from the smallest to the largest, with the human world at the center. Axis Mundi is also referred to as the Tree of Life, the center of the Earth, the Axis of the World, The Pillar, among others.
