Born as Steven Demetre Georgiou, 21st July 1948 a.k.a Cat Stevens, is a British singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. Known for his unique style he has performed within the territories of folk, and rock during the 60s and 70s. Rightfully inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2014.
Steven converted to Islam at the end of 1977, adopting the name Yusuf Islam in 1978. Hence his stage name Yusuf/Cat Stevens.
