Keeping up with a journal on a community site like this when you're a n00b is very much like sending out a message in a bottle. Who knows who's going to read it, or what they're going to think?
On the other hand, the classic message-in-a-bottle situation involves being stranded on a desert island. And while in my weaker moments, I sometimes feel like living in Orange County is a pain, it really isn't all that bad.
I can't imagine what it must have been like (or still is like, in most of the world) to live in a small rural town befor the internet or even television and radio. But that's pretty much what life is for most of humanity even now.
