I've been insanely, pointlessly, uselessly busy over the last week or so. I've been working on a casenote, (which, for those of you wise enough never to have applied to Law School) is just a long, unreadable paper about why a recent appellate case (usually, but not necessarily, a case decided by the U.S. Supreme Court. I personally chose a case by the Flordida State...

Back when Yugoslavia was tearing itself apart, at least a few folks made it past the border guards and maybe escaped death or worse by showing NSK passports. If you ever listened to the band Laibach you'll get the joke, that the supposed state of NSK was basically a hoax/art project by the Neue Slovenische Kunst group.
At first, I couldn't help wondering if the...

Welcome to SGMC!

Let us suppose that the great empire of China, with all its myriads of inhabitants, was suddenly swallowed up by an earthquake, and let us consider how a man of humanity in Europe, who had no sort of connexion with that part of the world, would be affected upon receiving intelligence of this dreadful calamity. He would, I imagine, first of all, express very strongly...

The truth has a way of remaining unchanged over time. Especially when the truth is that we are a bunch of selfish & nasty monkeys.
Got your app to SG Motorcycles. Please post in MY journal a little bit about what you ride, where, how long you've been riding, etc. If you don't currently ride, say something about why you should be a member of SGMC anyway. Anything to let me know you're actually interested in SGMC will do. If you know a current SGMC member, have him/her leave me a note in my journal.
Thanks.

yeah, you know, I've had a lot of stalkers (I'm a freak and loser magnet), but none I'd picked up at work.
Now I'm in a seriously foul holiday mood. Had a couple (just a couple) of drinks and got into a fight with the family. I officially still think I was right, was just defending myself, am the victim here...but if it hadn't have been for the booze I'd be on a lot stronger ground, morally. And that was just in hour one of the weeklong...

Really happy to hear it. You ended my experiment, too.
Wanted to see how long it took before someone from SG saw the essay. There are a lot of fab contributions in that book. There's going to be a publicity event for it in LA at the end of the month!

thanks for Your comment My friend, if you feel like ventin g about the family and or our mutual interest, You know our group has open arms to listen and rerspond with understanding and kindness. We have been there. I'm lucky My family even deems to speak to Me. If You were right OR wrong, I double dog DARE You to try to apologize, make amends! Put it in a letter, WITHOUT putting in the "I was right, but..." part. You putting that out, even if it's ignored, will be a estemable act, a adult respinse of maturity and serenity. This kinda' thing promotes good karma and who knows? You might get a wonderful response You won't be expecting!
I don't wanna preach, just writing to say thanks, and i'm glad to talk to Yuh!!!
OOh! A meeting might also p[rovide a answer to the family drama!!1 you never know where enlightenment pops up!
Take it EASY and SLOW

Somehow, this year's Festivus seems hollow and commercialized, as compared with the holidays of my youth.
I'm thinking that arranged marriage has a bum rap. At least as compared to what we think of as regular marriage. In modern countries (I could say 'Western' countries, but they're kind of scattered all over the globe) people are supposed to choose their own spouses, based on being in love. And in spite of the incredible divorce numbers, most of them at pay at...

Done at last (for this semester, anyway) with the horror that is finals. Actually, I was done a while ago, but only now have I thawed out enough to crawl back into the real world.
Changing subjects...in October, some knucklehead stole my motorcycle. I reported it of course, and much to my surprise the cops busted the guy that same day, still riding the bike....

Ah dude, have sympathy on the poor ol' BFPFVWN.

I'm kind of embarrassed how much taking finals fucks with my head.
The other night I dreamt I was watching a live action sitcom version of Invader Zim. Sort of watching it, and sort of in it. I remember the actress playing Tak, the hideous new girl had green skin and purple hair, even as an Irken. (I had a crush on Tak, of course)....

It's always somehow strange that the more full (of good stuff, or bad, or indifferent) your real life becomes, the lamer and more lurky is your online life. I guess it makes sense, but on a visceral level, I think the two shouldn't be so separate. I mean, one should feed into the other. But maybe it's just and fair that they don't. You know,...

Keeping up with a journal on a community site like this when you're a n00b is very much like sending out a message in a bottle. Who knows who's going to read it, or what they're going to think?
On the other hand, the classic message-in-a-bottle situation involves being stranded on a desert island. And while in my weaker moments, I sometimes feel like living...
