I have not been feeling well for the past two days. Not at all. I don't mean "I have a headache" sick or "Been up too late on Saturday night" sick. I mean full blown sickness. It started on Monday afternoon or evening, when I felt very lethargic. At first, I just chalked it up to my allergies, as my sinuses were bugging me.
Tuesday morning was when I knew something was wrong. I woke up with serious post-nasal drip and a frog in my throat. I had a hard time even getting myself out of bed. As the day wore on, things got worse, with chest congestion starting in the afternoon. After I found that I really could not get myself to work, I headed to the Student Health Center on campus.
Talking with the nurse there, it appears I have some form of the common cold, combined with my sinus allergies to produce a decidedly unpleasant illness. The nurse gave me some Mucinex and charged me thirteen dollars, which seems to be their standard response to illness. (I have to wonder if they have a contract of some sort with the Mucinex company.)
I did not sleep well last night. Every two hours, I would wake up and have to drink some water to stop my throat from hurting. Later in the night, the Mucinex kicked in, and I started coughing up phlegm.
When I woke up for good this morning, I felt worse than I had yesterday. Coughing a lot, my throat really bothering me, and still lethargic. Later today, my sinuses started killing me, ranging from headaches to a pins and needles feeling inside my sinuses. My joints also began to ache.
I seem to be on the upswing. My symptoms are calming down, and I am looking forward to being able to do some work tomorrow. Hopefully.
