Over this weekend, I have come to the conclusion that I need more discipline in my life. I don't mean in the sexy "Come here right now, slave!" sense, but in the sense of getting my life better organized. I have been making moves towards this for the past few months, but things this weekend are making me think I need to get somewhat more serious about it.
Long story made short, I have come to the conclusion that I need to drop out of an intramural volleyball team I had been hoping to participate in at my university. The issue is that all the games take place on Sundays, when I am usually bogged down with work because I spent Saturday crashing. This is a fairly ingrained habit for me, and is not likely to change. I should have realized this, and not signed up for the team in the first place.
I had signed up for the team not so much because I am a huge fan of volleyball, but because I want to get in more exercise and lose some weight. I am not morbidly obese, but I think it is better to start taking action before it gets to that point.
In response to this, and several other issues, I have decided to inaugurate the month of March with some resolutions / goals to improve myself further. They are:
1. No more staying up hideously late on Saturdays.
2. Get more exercise, such as using the exercise bikes at school.
3. Write in my (off-line) journal at least three times a week.
4. Get to church on Sundays.

I agree with the exercise, but don't sleep away your Saturday nights!
