I ate greek food today as the sun whent down. Read up on Acient egypt, met friends for drinks, and walked. Sometimes doing is not as important as LIVING. How often I forget this.
Last night I purchesed a Macdonalds chicken sandwich with Super sized fries and a coke, and ate it in a park. In the dark, surrounded by trees, and all alone. I kept feeling like someone was going to get me as I heard the rush of the traffic and the rustle of creatures in the trees. But I delighted in the fear.
And when I finished my meal I walked over to a clearing and looked at the stars and pondred that those tiny lights were actually galixies and Gas giants so large, that I could not even fathom thier size.
I then touched the damp grass with my hands. And grabbed it with my fingers. I felt its texture. And I walked over to the dirt and ground my feet aginst it, listining to the tiny rocks crack and crunch beneth my sneaker. I pinched a small amount of dust between my fingures. And pressed until a tiny pebble bit at my skin.
Then I went and got into my car, shutting the door on nature and the world outside.
Tonight I spent some time scratching a dog outside of a resturant. He was a big dog. An old dog. He liked my attention. As did the cat in my appartment complex. The one who wakes his master up at 4:30 in the morning so he can greet me outside when I decend the stairs to go to work. The cat likes to have his belly scratched. And I enjoy obliging him.
Sometimes it is better to LIVE than to DO. Doing can be done tommorow. I don't live enough. And that I am trying to change.
And so the wind....

Taking time out to remember why living is a good thing is something we all should do more often. It's the little things that make it all worth all the bullshit.
