today I decided to take a drive on a whim.
the beautiful sunshine may have influenced it. perhaps it was just time. either way, my vehicle made its way up Bagley, a street that makes its way from Culver City through the backside of Beverly Hills. these are the neighborhoods, I realized, are forgotten by many locals, untouched by time. well, almost. instead of Plymouths and Chrystlers in the driveways, Mercedes sedans and glittering SUVs are parked in driveways and occasionally litter the streets. besides that one detail of time, the streets and houses remain unchanged and they remind me of visiting the east coast five years ago.
a tear slides down my face at a stop sign, the scene is remeniscant of the The Wonder Years and I cry a few more tears. I pulled over to try and capture the moment, pulling my notebook out of the backseat of Natalie, my car. And in that moment, I realized it had been 13 years since I had driven down that street... only it was in a 1963 Fairlane before with my father.

That's pretty cool. I miss the Wonder Years. Your car is named Natalie?
