Sorry that it's been so long, since I've posted... I'm in Tennessee, at the moment; in the Appalachians, near a plateau, apparently? I dunno, I just know it's not swamps and bathing in humidity.
No luck, on the job-front, as of yet. I've even applied at the bane of most Austinites' existence: Comcast. *shudders* Of course, when I call the number they tell me to call, while filling out the application, they tell me the job is "on hold". What fun!
So, I'm seriously debating on buying a one-way to Europe - but it scares the shit out of me, because I'll have no "life lines", once over there... ...but I figure that if I'm only getting 'x' amount in unemployment, I should -at the very least- live a little bit more comfortably.
I mean, I'm a middle-aged, white male with no dependents (read: wife or kids), so unemployment's all I get, and while it's more than the average bear, with gas hitting 3.30+ per gallon, it's nowhere enough to live off of and drive around to interviews - not that anyone's called me for an interview, in months.
I have to do something... This whole being in limbo and not having a job thing sucks mad balls... Tons of mad balls. bermadballs.
So, the trip would cost me less than $500 (US) but the buck stops in Spain. So, I'd have to take the Eurorail to my destination... Of course, I can't find out how much or how long that trip would be, online, so the planning part has to happen a lil' bit more than just impulsively leaving on a jet plane, nes pas?
So, yeah, still in a bit of turmoil... Hope something happens, soon... ....because this whole limbo thing sux!
