So yeah, this is why I don't typically blog :-P
Oh, well, a lot has gone on in my world. I'll try to keep it from getting tl;dr.
First and foremost, it is getting close to time for me to pick my second site for my internship. I thought about the list of sites for a while, and one in particular caught my eye: Anchorage, Alaska. I thought about it, and at first I was like "it would be beautiful to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there." Over time, though, I gradually sold myself on it. Yeah, I'd be kinda isolated, but it's a city of 300K people that has all the fixings of anywhere else in the country, meaning I still get civilization and stuff to do (believe it or not, it would be the largest city I've lived in by far.) Everyone I talked to who had been there said they'd do it in a heartbeat, and once I got up there I'd never look back. So I sent an e-mail to the chief engineer up there...I was the first interest he's had in two years, and he wants me to start as early as February if possible So it's pretty much a matter of getting the paperwork shuffled...preferably quickly, so I can get my stuff shipped up and get an apartment, soon-ish. Any advice on the move/life up there is appreciated.
Finally got my bacon lung shot after being promised one for two months by my employer. Nice to know I won't have to deal with that.
Life's been pretty good otherwise. Been doing a lot of traipsing over Colorado, and just got back from Las Vegas. Only lost $130 or so gambling, but spent a ton more on entertainment (that's my story and I'm sticking to it.) Saw Cirque du Soleil at the MGM and went to the top of Stratosphere and went on the rides. I'm a pretty seasoned roller coaster rider, but standing that high in the air with just enough room to theoretically drunken-stumble/bounce over the guard rails and down to my doom gave me the jibblies something fierce. Someone tried to sell me crack on the Strip. And there was a dude dressed as Michael Jackson walking around at 1 AM.
Okay, back to TVTropes I go. See you in six hours or so!

I really get how people fall in love with Alaska. It's such a unique place to live that it draws you in. I've only been here a month and I don't want to leave.
