I can't recall the last time I got so many unsolicited complements from strangers. This has been such a wonderful night! The last few days have been pretty sucky and I've been having a hard time getting myself motivated to do anything at all, like go to yoga, or get off the couch at all after coming home from work, or change my sheets or hang my laundry. But today, after a nice time hanging out with Arturo and a *great* feeling of fifth wheel (which promptly ended when they began making evening plans without me... not that I was beggin to stay; I'd already made plans to dance, but still), I not only got off the couch and put on pretty clothes and did my makeup, but I also drove to Sac to Tango, which scared me because it was only the second time I'd been to that place and I still didn't know anyone, really, and I was going alone which meant that at any point I was not dancing, I was conspicuously waiting to dance. However! Not only did this guy I'd met last time show up. Onid? Something that reminds me of Ovid every time he says it and doesn't allow my brain to process what it actually is. Not only did he say Hi and dance with me a whole bunch which was awesome because he's a fun dancer. Not only that, but like two other really good dancers asked me. And a couple mediocre leaders, but that's not bad. And not only that, but people kept saying such nice things to me. The guys would say, "i haven't seen you here before." "you have great footwork" "that was so much fun" "you'll come back, right?" and women were complementing me on my shoes. And as I was about to leave, this woman who was obviously close friends with the studio owner and also a pretty darn good dancer stopped me and said "you're very good. I've been watching you. you're so musical."
That's probably enough of me bragging about all the complements I received, but hell, when you get a string of well-below-baseline days, something like this is really quite thrilling.

107 degrees? I am sorry but that sounds like a miserable hell on earth to me.
