My my my my my my!
So as a graduation present, my dad decided to give me his old car, which he didn't think he'd get much money for anyway. The only thing is he didn't drive up here or anything for graduation so I was going to have to fly down and pick it up. I was sitting there going, damn, I don't want to have to drive the ten or twelve hourse by my lonesome, right!? I asked the boy if he would help and he said yes but that we would have to figure out how and when and all that crap. My mom drove up for the graduation in order to take some boxes back with her and I realized that the boy and I could just drive down with her and pick up the car. So on Wednesday afternoon, we decided to get up early on Thursday and drive down to Cali with my mom.
It was a fantastic time. I saw my little sister who is wonderful and seems to be having a hard time witht he fact that her father is going in for surgery on Wednesday of next week. (I am also having a hard time with it, as it is -- or may turn out to be -- a tripple bypass, which is no walk in the park. I could tell my dad would have liked me to stay and be with him but that's not how I do these things. I wouldn't be useful there. He's got my step-mom to take care of him. Fawning seems disrespectful to me.) I took her to school on Friday and then hung out with a friend of mine that I hadn't seen in a while. The boy came along. The two of them got along swimmingly, which was good and funny because of them both finding me attractive and all. Whatever. They played Halo together. They're officially pals.
Then the boy and I went to the beach, which I've been totally craving for a while and got the awesome bread I've been craving and generally had an incredible couple of days and a wonderful drive back up. I'm so happy.
Life is goodness and light.
