Driving lessons, again, because my licence expired ages ago. I have to start all over since we have graduated licensing here. I haven't needed it, living in Toronto, but family vacations have become really cumbersome. The train is great, but getting there (and on time) is a huge hassle with two small children.

The weather has been fantastic lately. It's been exactly the kind...

I've got Tool tickets!!

I've never seen them before. I thought I'd never get the chance to see them. We're in the nosebleeds, minutes after the tickets went on sale. How the hell does that happen? Presales, front of the line stuff, ugh. Whatever. I'm excited.

After them, there's only David Bowie left on my list of bands that I Must See Live.

I said to my husband the other day that I was having a "George Bailey moment". I've been looking into teaching English in Japan again, but it's really complicated to plan something like that with a family, cats, and all this stuff I've accumulated in my life so far. I keep wondering what my life would have been like if I'd made different choices, or...

Yay!!

For the first time in many years, I actually feel generally happy these days. Not that there aren't things in my life I'd change - there are many things I wish were different. Just that for once, I'm not dwelling on them.
samling:
i don't think there's anything wrong with wanting to do something interesting with life, and you're right to weigh out how you'd do it.

could you teach ESL somewhere local? perhaps that would be rewarding to you.

I'm in spring cleaning mode, with a vengeance. At least six bags of clothes to donate, a bunch of things (knickknacks, trinkets and sundries). The apartment has been cleaned from top to bottom, and we're decluttering like mad.

I just need to get my husband to clean the BBQ and we're set!

This is my life right now. Everything is so full of life and love, and everything is wonderful. People don't update their journals when life is good, I've found - journals are made for bitching. All I can think to say these days is that I love life, and I love everything.

I LOVE that song smile I always stop when that commercial's on and sing along with it.

It is, isn't it? The news has been full of the story all week, and every day it gets worse.

As of today the hijackers have excluded the two or three surviving old members on the executive committee from the organization's press conferences, fired the office manager, forcibly changed the office locks, barred the old members from the office, seized 25 years' worth of confidential research material, and recorded the conversations of staff and volunteers against their wishes. And yet they're playing victim and crying about how awful it is that people are being mean to them. It's maddening.

Thank you guys for the birthday wishes! biggrin I had a very good day. In fact, my birthday celebrations aren't over yet. I've got one more to go, when my parents are in town this weekend. My whole birthday has been tea-themed, so I've been quite pleased.

Feeling kind of blah. It'll pass. I should get another cuppa.

Spring is slowly creeping in! We went to the zoo last Friday, as it was a balmy 15 degrees Celsius. The elephants were eating the last of the snow, and the komodo dragons were getting it on. Our cats are starting to perk up, and I can see a haze of green on the trees as new leaves begin to sprout. I've taken the lining...

I should go to the zoo this year! I'm already excited. We have a great zoo here in D.C. We'll at least when people aren't being shot there anyways.

We went shopping for a new bed today. I feel so grown up. Next we'll have matching bedroom furniture and a real couch. Time to get rid of my posters?

Hi! How goes? Been a little while since your last blog.
johnjelly:
You never have to get rid of your posters. You just have to frame them. Ha.
