So much for NaBloPoMo ...I've been AWOL having a baby!
Wednesday afternoon I'd had a doctor's appointment. She did a blood pressure reading, and it was fine, as usual. Thursday, my midwife found that my blood pressure had skyrocketed, and there were signs that my kidneys were in distress. We went to the hospital for further tests, where they diagnosed hypertension. The only way to cure that is to get the baby out, so by 2am, I was induced.
Two hours later, I'd had enough with toughing out the contractions. It took two more hours after that for them to actually get me an anaesthesiologist!! OW. So my plan for a home birth went completely out the window. I wish now that I'd put on my iPod earlier on, as it really really helped me get through the painful (even with an epidural) contractions that got worse and worse as Friday wore on. Let me tell you - Tool's 10,000 Days is the best album, ever. They should sell that shit. (Oh wait, they do.)
So I was stuck in the hospital for the last few days for observation. Lots of healing to do, as the delivery itself was

In short, I've never been more glad to be home.
