It's snowing! A lot! It's actually going to stay on the ground for a little while, too. Snow has been forecast for the next 24 hours, and it's going to hover around freezing for the rest of the week. This is so early for winter in Toronto! Puts me in the Christmas spirit, though, so I'm not complaining.
And speaking of Christmas, here's my annual reminder: I celebrate it as a secular holiday. To me, it's about being with the people you love, eating good food, and enjoying being cozy indoors. Any gifts exchanged should be thoughtful rather than expensive, and free gifts and/or things you make yourself will always be better than something you broke the bank buying. People are already talking about Black Friday with dread, but being Canadian, our shopping season has already started. Make the Christmas season what you want it to be, and you'll enjoy it much more.
How's this for a Catch-22? My heart rate has been unusually low, and it's made worse by my increasing need to be sedentary as I get really really round. The way to increase my heart rate is through exercise. Exercise currently hurts, as everything is swollen and the baby is pressing on body parts that make walking difficult. Apparently I have the heart rate of an Olympic athlete right now ... At least it's happened once in my life, I guess? 'Cause I know I'll never be that athletic, ever!
