I'm greatly encouraged to keep this up, since I'm getting comments every day! Of course this is just day three, so we'll see. 
I recently completed my degree requirements, so I have a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies and African Studies (double major). I found the following piece of news today that makes me wish I were still a student, because it's exactly the kind of thing I'd love to write an essay about, or present to the class about:
Obama: The Musical
Yes, oh yes. It's currently running in Nairobi, but apparently they've had enquiries to play abroad. There's a video at the above link (can't find it on YouTube, sorry). One of my areas of study was not only African popular culture, but African theatre, so this is intensely interesting to me. If I had the money, I'd seriously fly out there to see it.
Speaking of, you'd be surprised at how much African pop culture can be found on YouTube ...
I wrote an essay about West African expressions of Christianity and relied heavily on YouTube. We get into our online routines, checking certain sites that are familiar and comfortable, and then you find something like this. it kind of highlights just how big the world is, and how little any one person can ever know of it, even with a lifetime of travel and study. It's humbling, and amazing.
