Pride weekend!! Have you got plans? I'm going for tea with some fellow doll hobbyists, and then I plan on watching the parade with a friend and my daughter. My husband doesn't like crowds, so he'll be staying home. If there's one thing you can count on at Pride, it's public nudity. Oh, and crowds!
I didn't make it to Gala after all. Oh well, there's always next year. It would be nice to see people before then, though. I just suck at planning! And, you know, going out.
Last night we finally saw
Pirates 3! It was enjoyable, but not as good as the first two.The end where
SPOILERS! (Click to view)they made such a big deal about having an alliance of the pirate brethren against an armada of the King's ships, and then you only see a battle between two of them! Laaame. I kept hearing that the end bit after the credits made a sequel impossible, but I found that to be the opposite. If anything, we'll soon be seeing The Adventures of Jack Turner or some similar spin-off. I was very unsatisfied with the arrangement at the end between Will and Elizabeth, as she'd keep ageing while he remained ageless. I can only assume she'd drown herself after twenty or thirty years, but she'd then be an old woman (for the time) hanging around a boyish man. CREEPY.
Lots of fetish fodder, though. Bondage (and caging), transformation, size (giantess and miniature), clones, tentacles, role-play, body modification and a bunch of others that have slipped my mind. It's funny that the sex scene was done in true Disney fashion (ie completely off-screen) but there was still plenty on screen to satisfy we perverts.
I also finally saw Mad Max. Holy wow, that was some bad acting. Really weak plot, too. I hear the next two are better, and I'm stubborn enough to try watching them anyway. I love 80's "futuristic" movies like Blade Runner and Total Recall.
I applied for a permanent position at work. Wish me luck! It's for the newly opened copywriter position, which would be a great improvement on the data entry I'm doing now. I enjoy data entry, especially when I'm at school, but I'm not in school right now and want something more challenging.
I still need to take some self-portraits. Damn never having enough time and good lighting at the same time!
Did you know that the stories that both Blade Runner and Total Recall were based on were written by Philip K. Dick? I can't remember the original name for TR but Blade Runner, the book was called Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?.
Just something I know.
