Blue hair and springtime
It's well past time for an update from me! I'm also not pleased at having let a negative entry be my most recent one for so long. Enough people whine every entry or so; y'all don't need to hear it from me, too.
The move clearly stressed me out, but we're settled in quite well, now. I don't miss the old place as the new one has a much more home-like feel to it. Or maybe it's the fact that we don't share a bedroom with the baby any more. Having a dining room is nice, too! The only glitch so far was having a dream a few nights ago that we'd left a bunch of stuff at the old place and had to have another big moving event to get the last of it out before we lost access to the unit.
My husband picked up a new 19" flatscreen and widescreen monitor, and we almost got rid of our TV. But we wouldn't be able to play the Game Cube on my husband's monitor, so it has to stay. Apparently there's some kind of receiver you can get that allows you to plug everything in, so hopefully we'll be TV free by the end of the year.
I had my hair re-blued by Valdis as a birthday present to myself. It's funny how many people say "you dyed your hair blue!" as though I hadn't noticed. I guess it's one way of acknowledging the change without committing to an opinion on it. It's also funny how people I wouldn't expect to like it will tell me they think it's awesome. Little old ladies, random ladies in the coffee shop, people in the elevator at work (and it's a hoity-toity building, generally). I expected my daughter to react to my hair (staring, pointing, even being afraid), but she completely ignored it. She'll be confused when her classmates start telling her that her mother is a weirdo, when I'm her baseline for what's normal.
Speaking of which, she wore her ladybug bib at dinner tonight. There are two ladybugs and a heart between them, so they must be in love. BUT WAIT! They're both ladybugs. There are no gentlemenbugs, so that makes them lesbibugs!
Thank you, thank you, I'm here all evening.
Don't forget to tip your waiter.
