...casting shadows up on the winter sky...as you stood there, counting crows...
...one for sorrow...two for joy...
three for girls and four for boys...
five for silver...six for gold...
...seven for a secret, never to be told.
Good week so far, met the new cute girl at work (who is super friendly)...probably later than I should, since every new employee I am one of the first to know about as I have to set them up. I got praised from my work today by my manager (always a nice feeling), received two servers today (the most powerful ones for our company...perhaps just behind our SQL servers), my bettas at work are both blowing bubbles (a sign of happiness), and I found out that my next manager/team lead will be hired at my facility.
That last part needs a little clarification. See, I work at HQ for my company, where easily 80% of our employees are (about 65 workstations plus supporting servers). However, all 4 of my team members (senior sys admins) work in Canada at our data center, and I am all alone here. This is doubly annoying because not only do I miss out on a "mentor" figure, but I also have very few people in the office who truly understand that even if it looks like I'm slacking off, I'm deep in thought or researching some way to fix something I've never dealt with before. So having an extremely technical yet manager-type person added to my team will be awesome. My current team leader in Canada has expressed his desire to not be a manager-type and instead stay in the technical realms, in the dirt with us, so to speak. I can totally understand that, because that's where I want to be right now too.
Anyway...that was a boring fucking post, so, entertain me in comments.
