The above chorus is from Big Yellow Taxi by (originally I think) Amy Grant with a recent cover by the Counting Crows. Lately, every morning a programmer that sits behind me in the office has some music on, and a few mornings in a row now, this song has come through his playlist. Now, knowing just two things from my past (I'm a nature lover and I used to [shudder] be big into Christian music) one can deduce that I loved the original song...and like the remake even more. I let him know that every morning I hear this song come on, it's always a better morning for having heard it. (By the way, anyone who likes words/literature at all can love that second line of that chorus, it's blessedly fun to sing with the consonance in there...)

A few movies I've seen lately: Master and Command was disappointing, and while I think the screenplay was bad, it's obvious the story was lifted from a long book series, right from the middle of it, as it was intricate and character-driven...just the screenplay wasn't. The Last Samurai was beautiful.

By the way, I'm happy LTrain is back, that makes me smile. Unfortunately, I have no other profound news or little tidbits, but the Muse has been tickling a bit lately, especially when I read some other posts that are very story-like, or very well-written. Sometimes that is enough of a spark to start something...
