Sitting here in this motel gets a bit boring. Today was kind of a bitch at work so I was looking forward to getting back to my room. I work away from home a lot. Im not much on going out without my wife, not that she cares, its just no fun. So I just chill in the room at least half of my time off. Today as I said was a bitch so relaxation was a definite.
I set here and fuck around on facebook, SG(of course), read, watch the brain killing box known as the tv, but mostly play my guitar to pass the time and think. I usually drink a few beers, and burn a nice nugget in my self made wooden pipe. Well today the weed was particularly strong, new batch from a new source. I decided to try finding a song on youtube that I heard on the trip back from work. Its a song I found to be called, Rank Strangers, by The Stanley Brothers. Im considered by most standards a hillbilly so I do listen to some bluegrass music, or at least I do now. So as this buzz wore on and kept getting stronger I just kept listening to bluegrass music. I have a huge musical taste, but only some of it is good to be stoned to. You know of course, Dr. Hook, Zepplin, Hendrix, Eric Clapton, The Stones, Bob Dylan, B.B. king Tom Waits, Ben Harper, Jim Croche, Manson, Pantera, Metallica, Ozzy, Sabbath, Moterhead, Eminem, and blah blah blah. You know the good stoner music and this is only the tip of the iceberg, but theyre not the story. I have never really listened to Bluegrass music much until lately, especially with a buzz, Anyway I kept clicking and clicking link after link like a bird after a worm and eventually realized I was listening to acapella gospel music. Not only was I listening to it, but was getting chills from the kick ass harmonies of these ppls voices. I didnt even hear the words, just the rhythm. I dont do gospel music. Most would consider my religious views as Atheist. Point is that music kicks ass. Despite the fact that I dont support the notion of the puppet master in the clouds, the music about him can, and does kick some serious ass. I would have never imagined that songs about salvation would have such a rhythmic groove. Then again maybe its the weed.
