so i went to the first wedding of a college peer today. it was actually the second i was invited to, but the first one i could actually make. i have reached that age when even my (slightly younger) friends are pairing off for life. and i always thought i'd be the first one to walk down the aisle.
still, as i looked around this afternoon i was terribly glad i was unmarried. my two relationships that discussed the issue simply weren't "old" enough to pull something like that off. i wasn't "old" enough to pull something like that off. i feel much better about such things now (this year of general single-ness has been a blessing) despite the social pressure. i wouldn't mind finding a girl who i could form a relationship of that callibure, however, but it will happen when it does. lord knows my life right now does not have enough geographic stability for such things without a woman who is as transient as i am, and they're in short supply these days....trust me, i've looked.
in other news, however, i leave cambridge in one week and i think the ending of this summer is going to be strong. july was a bit touch and go but the 'bookend' months of this summer have went very, very well. i came here to have a good run in this house of mine and i have had just that. i cannot complain.
