So power is still out in sections of the city. Most of my friends are without power and half of my family. My grandmother has come to stay with us until they can get electricity and some air conditioning.
Today was the first day back at college since the storm. Seems everyone in my class made it out ok. I ended up spending 45 minutes talking with Guy about chemistry and what our prospects were once we actually graduated. I really hate how much time I have wasted when it comes to college. If I hadn't been a jack-ass I would have already graduated and been on my way towards a masters or doctorate by now. But no, I had to bugger around and not get with it. Well nothing I can do now but charge forwards, if all goes according to plan I will graduate in a year and a half or two.
In my physics class there are three other guys who are all chemistry majors. they seem like good guys, and I enjoy getting to learn with them since it is such a small class (8 people last count). The class size being so small is a real help to me since I never feel like I have understood anything or know what I am doing. Somehow I pass and move forward in courses but it always feels like I got there by the skin of my teeth. I keep hoping that someday it'll all click and I'll actually feel like I know what I'm doing in something, but I don't count on it.

Oh man, I can't believe I didn't think of El Oso an Give Up. Friggin' wonderful albums, both of them.
