So I have now been working at the school for two weeks. I have been enjoying it, but there have been some stressful days. Yesterday, for instance, had me wanting to strangle the kids during lunch. They were doing nothing but playing which culminated with "E the Lion" spilling his milk all over the table and then crying because he thought he was in trouble....

Sadly I won't know what happened in my D&D game tonight until later, I ended up being too sick to go.

So I have now been two days on the job. I have been enjoying it, but it is frustrating that I can communicate with the kids very well. I've already picked up a handful of signs, but they are mostly the important command ones for being a teacher: Sit, Stop, Good, Thank you, Lower your voices, ect.

There are eight children in the class, and...

I love the idea of a mix CD exchange.

So I start my new job tomorrow. What will I be doing you ask? I'll be a substitute teachers aid for a deaf-ed class consisting of about 8 first and second graders. I have always got along with children very well, perhaps because I'm just a big kid myself. I'm going to have to start learning sign language which is going to interfere with my...

Ok, I just found this clip from the Colbert Report:

Cookie Monster and Colbert

I guess SG Ember is to blame for this:

That bit at the end of the show was certainly a surprise. It makes me happy though, I love the interaction between Dexter and Rita and her family.

So I have been joining and participating in more groups here on SG and been thinking about putting together some group events for the SG Houston community. I'm hoping that I can get some interest up to go as a group to check out some Houston roller derby. I've never been to one and I think it could very well be a good time for...

So power is still out in sections of the city. Most of my friends are without power and half of my family. My grandmother has come to stay with us until they can get electricity and some air conditioning.

Today was the first day back at college since the storm. Seems everyone in my class made it out ok. I ended up spending 45 minutes...

I was thinking about the phrase "When I grow up". It's a phrase you use a whole lot when you are young, and less so the older you get. I guess most people start to feel like they have grown up and are now what they are, they have no more growing up to do, that part of their lives is finished and over.

I...

So Hurricane Ike swooped down on Houston and knocked out my power for the last 5 days, finally got it back tonight. My home fared pretty well with only some of our fence being pushed over and the bushy tree in the back yard that I planted getting blown to it's side. I don't know weather it will be salvageable but I hope it is...

We had a wonderful lighting storm roll in a couple of days ago, lots of heavy rain and wonderful cracks of lighting. We also had a power surge which wiped my hard drive and may have shorted my integrated sound card. So now I'm starting from scratch and having to go buy a new sound card. I lost a few pictures of friends and family...

Pretty girls think I should post in my blog, so I guess I will.

I am generally regarded by those who have read my written works, (as small a number as those may be,) as "quite a good writer and if you ever complete this story I would really like to read it." I have recently taken to rereading some of my more thought provoking...

So I finally gave in and joined SG. Well since I have little else to do right now might as well. Should I doublt post from my blog on Myspace as well?
ember:
You haven't updated your blog since 2005? Holy jeez.
