It's Monday, considering I've been really slacking on my homework from @rambo, @missy and @charmaine I decided to kick start the week like a good student and get my blog on. This weeks topic is about your hidden talent, I have 2 (I was going to make a hilarious joke here about my talent being hidden in my pants but instead I will just go ahead and tell you my real talents). I've put on my glasses which make me look smarter to help get the job done.
Anyway back to the blog (it's very hard to focus and write this damn thing, lord knows how I passed high school) My first talent came to me last year, even I was suprised that I could do it so well, I was between jobs and needed a way to keep busy as well as keep afloat, to cut a long story short, my mom has a bakery and needed some extra hands and I discovered that I am pretty gifted in the art of cake decorating, I did it for 8 months with no help or lessons until I got my current job and I really enjoyed being able to make cute things out of icing. It didn't feel like "work" but more like I got to play everyday. The only down fall is that I am Captain Slow so it was hard to get anything done. My future kids are gonna have some banging birthday cakes :) Here are some of my favourite things that I did:
My second talent is painting, I wish I had more time or focus to put effort into this hobby, one of my goals is to have an exhibition one day. I only use oil paint, I am a really impatient human so I look for things that won't allow me instant gratification, I love the slow process and that you need to let it dry between layers, I have tried acrylic and the outcome was horrible. This is some of my latest work:
Back to the present, I have something really exciting planned with @janinekittyb but it's a secret, in a few weeks I will be able to say a bit more, I am really keen to be working with her.
I finally got my deathly hallows tribute tattoo, the dork is strong with this one, it's disguised in a vintage moth but it is there right in the middle, it wasn't as sore as I had expected and I love it, one more hour on the wings to go.
Love Lunar
