Sometimes in a century, a country is given an extraordinary person at the right time, someone with the power to change the world. Mandela's contribution to my country is immeasurable. South Africa would not be what it is today without him. Today a dark cloud hangs over the nation as we say farewell to this powerful man. I drove past the area where he lives and his ability to unite people from all walks of life is still tangible. People of all race, age, sex were gathered with banners and flowers to pay tribute to the man that helped shape this country. Nelson Mandela helped bring about democratic change for South Africa without resorting to war, he spent 27 years of prison behind bars because he wouldn't give up on this dream, through all this he still emerged knowing how to smile. May his legacy live on in bringing our country together.
Rest in Peace, Hamba kahle Tata Madiba
