Mother. Trucker.
Help me out here, people, cause I'm at the end of my rope.
I haul ass all morning trying to get the house looking half decent, as I've been a little slack lately. I do a couple of errands, a bunch of laundry, and about an hour ago I get an attack of nervous tummy and feel pretty sick, so I decide to lie down and relax for ten minutes until the anxiety goes away.
In that time, my mother disappears, leaving the dog in the house and not in her "room" (not a problem, I had just puppy proofed...) BUT leaves her bedroom door OPEN even though I continuously remind her it needs to be CLOSED and in the ten minutes she's gone the dog goes up there and eats an entire package of gum that was under mum's bed. Wrapper and all. Mum is still nowhere to be found.
You know how I knew something was wrong? I was drifting off to sleep when I realized...
nobody is making any noise.
Now, I know this is my fault. I should have known that going into my room, closing the door, and trusting that nothing significant would actually happen in the ten minutes I was gone was so very presumptuous of me. But I feel like I'm living with a two year old (dog) and a four year old (mum) and my only pleasure is sneaking out to the back porch when no one's paying attention and having a quick smoke and a coffee.
This is compounded by the fact that I just visited my good friend's new place and, well, she lives by herself in a very small but sunny apartment 20 minutes from town. I want to live by myself in a very small but sunny apartment 20 minutes from town. NOT in the house that normal forgot.
That is all.
