So--as some of you know--Boss (a photog on SG and suicide boy group leader--who was zotted from the site not so long ago for rather ambiguous reasons) is moving to our town here in South Jersey. Actually, to our house. He needed a change and he and Neo are good buddies. He came for a visit for two weeks around Christmas, and decided to move here. Millville, where we live, is an artists' community downtown, and a good place for working artists like Boss. Plus--Philly's right down the road in one direction and Atlantic City is even closer in the other direction. Boss has already got photo shoots set up for all of March.
Anyway, he's on the road. Moving van and all. We've got two attic bedrooms. He's young and doesn't own as much junk as we old geezers do. So--cheers for the barter system! Neo needs some help with the mural he's doing for the race track (It's 30 feet long), plus we need some help with our fixer-upper house. Boss needs a place to live. We have space for him and he has youth and the willingness to help us out on his side. He was laid off several months ago from his "day job" in electronics--a too familiar scenario these days. And our money for redoing the house is so limited. Add to that Neo's need for some help, and again our lack of cash---and yep--barter system works for all involved. We may be seeing more and more of this kind of thing amongst our fellow citizens as this recession/depression continues. Got to accept the idea that we've got to do what we can to help each other out.
Anyway, Neo's son was living upstairs in the bedrooms, but he moved out on his own with one of his buddies a few months before his 21st b'day. And, both Neo and I came to Millville and bought our house after we had both been living in other places with roommates--so we're both used to having non-related house mates around.
Only thing I'm worried about is how truly goofy both Neo and Boss get when they are together. I have a feeling I'm going to end up being "Mom.." Sigh.
