So, Neo and I were both sick Thanksgiving Day and ate leftover Chinese food. We were perfectly happy to eat it, too. Got the nap in, at least. Neo's cooking our express version of T'giving dinner right now, so we're having both a late holiday and a late night dinner, too. Fine for him. I've never seen anyone so easily knocked out by turkey as he is. Ha.
Me, I'll be moaning about being too full at 3 am, I'm sure, but that's okay. I'll take it. Especially given the fact that my job is to nuke yams and wash dishes. Marrying a retired chef has its perks!
I hope everyone else ate well, survived and--gasp--even enjoyed family time, and got in enough football or parades or whatever your viewing pleasure to feel fully satisfied by the holiday.
Spending my time, now, wondering where I'm going to get enough money to finish my Christmas shopping. Sigh. I'm expected to go to Kentucky to visit my mom, which, I love my mom and spending time with her, but getting down there on the holidays is a huge hassle. We have pets we have to get someone to care for, dogs to board, the flight to arrange with a two hour drive on that end because the nearest airport to where my mom lives in in Nashville....plus, no matter what I do, I cannot get Neo to pack light. He needs to take his computer, sirius radio, cameras (plural), etc., etc., etc. Mom has a computer. I have a nice compact small camera. Doesn't matter. Neo must have his toys.
My dad passed away right at Christmas, too, about five years ago. It's been plenty of time for healing up, but it still puts a damper on how I feel about Christmas, I guess.
I'll happily take the time off from work, though. I'm full of complaints these days. Sorry about that! I'm actually doing just fine and have a loving hubby I adore and a house full of fuzzy animals who all let me love up on 'em.
Time to eat our belated Turkey dinner. Hugs, everyone.
