KItty spay/neuter circus mostly over.... No big problems except I couldn't trap mama cat. So, she's still a free agent. I tried everything, got scratched up for it, etc. The trap thing sprung when she rubbed up against it, so she wouldn't get near it again.
Neo had taken his mom to the doctor very early that morning and been with her all day, so he was absolutely passed out. He fussed all morning that I hadn't woken him up to catch mama, and you wouldn't believe how many times I tried to wake him up. Men. Harumph. (Ha.) He said, "next time, take a rubber band and snap my nose with it or something." Boy, is he in for it!!!
Anyway, all the little guys have been fixed, as well as one of the two we adopted from her first litter. The other one, little Sammy, has the rare, undescended testes issue going on. He's sterile, but he'll have to have surgery to get those hidden little balls removed because he'll still have all the regular testostorone driven issues if we don't get him fixed, too. Apparently, it's a tricky surgery. Next paycheck, we'll have to look into that. In the meantime, I've been walking around calling him my little eunich.
The big surprise was that the clinic clipped the tip end off the left ear of all the cats. It's apparently an indication that these are sterilized feral cats, even though two of them are indoor kitties now. I was shocked by that. I came home from work, and Neo was at an artist's meeting. He had forgotten to mention that part.to me. So I see our little gray Enzo with this clipped ear (and they kind of messed his up) and I'm thinking they let another cat at the clinic get close enough to bite him. I eventually noticed mangled ears on all of them and figured out they must have done it as some sign of sterilization (like tagging the ear of a moose or something) I'm not real happy about having cats with squared off left ears, but not much I can do about it. Kitty body modification!!!
We're going to work on getting mama this week--set up a crate and feed her in it every day till she's used to going in it. (that's what we were told to do) Friends who helped us with all our guys are going down to the clinic again next week to get other ferals fixed, so they volunteered to take her if we can catch her.
Boy kitties are back outside with mama now (we're hoping their presence will keep her from going into heat). Girls probably out tomorrow. Neo wants to keep one of the little girls, so we'll try to just keep her inside. She's been nicknamed "emo" because she's an emotional little thing, so we'll have to see how she does inside without her brothers and sisters....
Okay, I promise I'll stop writing about cats soon. Neo and I went out to a nearby diner for breakfast this morning. That's been about the extent of real fun for us lately with cats, work, Neo's mom's doctor appointments, his own doctor appointments and my strep throat saga (finally over!) Cats are the only thing I can write about without whining and complaining and annoying everyone including myself, sooooooo....
Things are calming down a little, finally. Knock on nearby wood for us! Kisses!

Hope your all doing well. While I'm here, whats the name of Neo's son's band? He told me and I was gonna look it up but forgot all about it. Head like a fucking sieve I've got!
