I was planning on having a quiet night in. Hang out with Jenna. Talk, maybe watch Baraka. Relax, let the insanity of this year drain away. Didn't *quite* go that way....
Jenna and I were feeling comedy. So we watched the princess bride. Good way to go me thinks. It's just so epic. It ended around 11:30 and I (in my infinite wisdom) decided that we should go to her house. Now her roomates 18 year old daughter had decided to have a big party. I thought it might be nice to be around people at midnight. Also, you know, thought maybe I could find a crazy 18 year old to make out with at midnight. So we go. As soon as we get there we see a bunch of fairly big guys with no shirts on stmbling around outside. Bad sign. We get inside her place and are obviously the oldest people there by at least 5 years. Packed, crazy, puking, fighting type party. I really don't fel like typing out the whole thing. Suffice it to say that I got to witness mob mentality form, and try to keep a 20 person brawl from enveloping the whole house. Took a long time for everyone to drain out. I took my job to be giving people the hard eye when needed, but mostly staying out of the way. Reminded me why I am not the biggest fan of drinking. Maybe I have been to a disproportionately large number of parties where I have witnessed the degeneration into mass violence. The party that really put it in sharp relief for me was this one.....
I was 16. It was less than a month after my best friend Hank was killed. Our friend gabe (who floated in between the different social groups like they were nothing) decided to throw a HUGE party in his 3 floor house. A few hundred people there, from all different social classes, and sub cultural groups. I was, of course, entirely sober. I was able to feel just how tense everything was. It had the feel of the deep breath before the explosion. Most of the people I knew there were trying to ignore it, and were doing a good job of drinking/dosing/smoking themselves into oblivion. So I was maybe the only one who saw the thing start.....
Scumfuck northside trash guys who I recognized, but did not know takes a bottle of some kind of liquor and slips it in his jacket. Him and his slimy mustached friend try to slip out the door but bump into some other group. bottle falls out. Lots of yelling, screaming about stealing. Scumfucks try to run. About 10 people chase them outside, knock them down and start administering one holy hell of a vicious beating. Many boots cracking into skulls. At this point I grab my then girl friend (who was tripped out on LSD and made the run home through snowy back yards entirely too crazy) and tell her that we need to go because this is getting way too fucked. We leave and and see a good twenty people surrounding the two unfortunate would be thieves, someone has gotten a case of empty beer bottles and is systematically smashing each bottle over the heads of the OBVIOUSLY unconcious and fucking wounded boys in the blood pool in the street.
And you wonder why I am paranoid? You wonder why I don't trust alcohol? I assume that I would have heard if the two guys had died at the party, but I don't know for sure what did end up happening to them. Play safe boys and girls.....
And you know what the saddest, most fucked up part of the whole story is? I didn't even get to make out with a single drunk 18 year old at midnight. I was left kissless. There were a few people there that I would not have minded kissing. I will keep those names to myself for now....
On to happier topics. The Sex Mix. There are some cliches, I know this. However, in my mind set at the time, these all made the cut. They all still make me wet. And for those of you that asked, here is the track listing.
1. Link Wray - Rumble
2. NWA - Just don't bite it
3. Pansy Division - Cock Suckers Club
4. Howling Wolf - Tail Dragger
5. Lil Kim - Not tonight
6. The Damned - Jet Boy Jet Girl
7. The Stooges - Dirt
8 Lovage - Sex (I'm A)
Enjoy.

Pretty good assessment of the power problem in sex. It really does come down to strength alot of the time, which really makes casual sex a much more dangerous thing for most women. Unless you have a gun on you at all times. Which most don't.
Sadness.
