Now time for my big blog, so bare with me. (a week later)
Friday August 27th marked the start of Fan Expo Canada, where I arrived to find huge lines... EVERYWHERE! I was so pissed. I had a couple of friends from Markham come with me, meeting me in what I thought was the right line. When we approach the doors a security guard goes "tickets?" Uhh no we don't have any yet..." Well you're in the wrong line. you need to go over to the other one."
I felt so silly... and had to wait an extra hour to finally get in, but for me it was so worth the wait!
I walked around, in and through the crowds, and I found some interesting things, but it was basically the same things they have at other conventions... not that I've been to a whole lot.
I was pleased to see that Ian Flynn was there. He created the Sonic Archie Comics. I was so bent on going to his panel on Saturday, but ended up missing it because I was unbelievably hungry and had to face more lines on Saturday. I continued walking around and found this ladyCamilla d'Errico Ohh man, was that meeting ever painted in my blueprint!

The Friday I just ended up buying a bunch of her work... I think I went a little out of control... My wallet is screaming at me... but I will live.
When the dealer's room closed, there was a dance party... yes "dance party" I felt like the biggest nerd as soon as I walked into that room, but I was just curious to see what it was going to be like. The music starts to play, and I felt so silly, but I luckily made friends with another girl and we were just trying to move to the weird beats of the anime songs. Then I really got into it... I didn't care about anyone around me giving me looks of death or anything, I just wanted to move... I felt so free, and so happy, and I didn't even need to do any drugs to feel that way. I don't do drugs, but you know what I mean
By the time I left at around 11:30 that night I realized that I used about 2 days worth of energy in that room, but it felt amazing! I felt like I had a full on workout!

Saturday was even crazier! I got there a bit later than I wanted to, but got in, went upstairs, and right away was overwhelmed by the crowd that had gathered in the Dealer's room. I went back downstairs to see what was going on, but then had to wait in a line for about 10 15 minutes, because the dealers room had reached capacity! I went to see if anything interesting was going on, but Quickly loomed off into Camilla's Direction. I went to say hi, and before I knew it, I was invited to take refuge in her booth from the hordes of people that were just outside of the table that was kind of acting as a barrier.
My intention for Saturday was to go and see Ian Flynn in his Q&A Panel for the Sonic Archie Comics. He created them, and I like what he's doing with the comic, so I thought I'd see what the spoilers for the Comic are. That plan failed, because When I was in the line, my stomach started yelling at me, and I found myself outside the convention, in line for a poutine. Once I got out of that line there were more lines to get back in and so I went around to the empty exit.
By that time, I thought it would be too late and so I went back to my new refugee camp. I got to know Camilla a bit, and thought of her as a down to earth, pleasant girl who is very passionate about what she does and who is also deep in her perspective. It was her and her boyfriend at the booth originally, but they both left for about 10 15 minutes (after asking if I would be okay there by myself for a little while), and I was alone manning this booth. I felt kind of special, because normally people aren't that trusting of others to leave them with all of their shit like that, but I also felt like she really liked/ respected me.
So I told her afterwards that that was really nice and trusting of her and that I appreciate her doing that. I also cautioned her about what a different person might have done in that situation, but then she was like "yea I know... then I would have been like -well that was dumb of me!- But I like to give people a chance; give them the benefit of the doubt until they do something to prove me wrong.
When the dealer's room closed I was trying to figure out where to go for the karaoke session. It was at an outside venue, and I couldn't figure out where the hell to go. The mascaraed was already over, and so I just wanted something to do. Luckily the J-Pop Concert had been delayed, because I was also interested in going to that. Im glad I ended up going there! IT was a blast! the band was very energizing, and the singer was really funny. It was this lady OGATA MEGUMI. She is very famous in Japan and does countless amounts of Voice acting for many different shows. She even Did Sailor Uranus in Sailormoon!

Sunday was awesome as well. I really just went to hang out with Camilla again. She's awesome! I had a few run ins with a few peeps from SG,Schuldig, Mylastsin, and hadd and a few other friends I made during the weekend, but over all it was fun unofficially working and helping Camilla out.
Jelly bellys caught my eye at some point during the day, and I bout about $10 worth of it... not knowing how much I got before finally chowing down on it, when I got back to the convention from a lunch break in Toronto's hub. I was contemplating buying a pair of gray contacts. If my eyes weren't brown, Id want them to be gray. I just love gray eyes, but meh... maybe if the opportunity arises again
I left the Expo with some awesome new friends, and a GIANT Buddha Kuro- it's name (black in Japanese), it was a present for helping out for the weekend. If you rub its tummy its suppose to give you good luck. Its basically my new bundle of hugs... kind of like a punching bag, but those just make me feel exceedingly violent! O.o

Now Camilla is in Atlanta for the DragonCon, and we are exchanging emails. I want her to come back! Or I might have to go to Vancouver! (There is no Passport headache to worry about if I was to go there... Hmmmm)
Im just so glad I had this weekend to myself. I didnt have to think about anything except being a nerd
I'm so excited for next year!
