My state of melancholy hasn't lifted much, especially now that my closest dearest pop-pop is in a home because he needs 24hr care and don't really know the out come yet. My pop-pop is the best stubborn hard-headed spaghetti making Italian around! He just turned 88 the day after Christmas. He dropped out of a plane on D-day and stormed the beach of Normandy. He has had one hell of a life and watched the changes of life through some pretty crazy changes, for that I am happy for him to experience and see all that he has. But selfishly, I will be a mess if he doesn't pull through.
This was us when I was younger and he came to my softball game (I know my hat says LOL, but this was before computer age and I played for the Land O' Lakes league hence the LOL )
And these are from when I went to PA last March to visit him. Sadly, I knew it would be the last time I saw him, but I am glad I got to see him as himself and spend time with him not when he is miserable and sick in a home
Hehehhe, I got him to drink a PBR wit me! He doesn't drink, well only when we steam crabs, so him drinkin a beer with me was awesome! God I love this old italian man so much!
Ok, letz get to something that is more uplifting and not so morose shall we.....
This is for all my fellow 90's kids out there:
