My nephew is visiting me. He's 15 and towers above me. I am not nearly cool enough for him.
I have never heard of half the bands he likes (mostly hip hop stuff.)
We rode the ferris wheel in Toys-R-Us yesterday. It was a hoot. tongue
He almost convinced me to buy the new PS2, just so he could play it while he's here.
He smokes...

I want to be a purveyor. A purveyor of what, you ask?
Why, of fine goods, of course! (No one purveys ordinary, run-of-the-mill stuff.) whatever
So then when people ask what I do for a living, I can say, "Oh, I purvey. Full-time. It's very rewarding."
Purveyor. Sounds kinda like pervert. Heheh.

WhosYourLibra's dad is a rock star. No shit. He's a-fucking-mazing!!!! Catch the WatchDogs...

Brunch was fun.

And you could always be a purveyor of knowledge. Or truth. Or chocolatey goodness.

But I really appreciate everyone's well-wishes and suggestions! (I take VitC, Zinc, Riccola cough drops if needed and drink H2O and herbal tea-- no meds for me, thank you very much) You guys rock. What I REALLY need...

Which is worse: to be unforgiving, or to be too forgiving?

I've been trying to put a different spin on it lately:

be the open hand, not the clenched fist.

A friend had a great response to my "be the bamboo" (bend, but don't break) philosophy:

Be the bamboo
but watch out for the pandas!
ampersandwich:
To be away from you for weeks on end - that's the worst!!

I'm going with "unforgiving" - who is that, your dad?

Y~!

I am still on Japan time and it is NOT a good thing. I can't fall asleep until 5-6 am, which was not a problem until today, since over the weekend and yesterday (President's Day) I could sleep as late as I wanted...
Any advice on OTC sleeping pills?

L*P,

I hope you are feeling better, and didn't need the demerol or chloral hydrate (a favorite in '40s gangster movies). or was is sodium pentathol? what the hell is ether?
another idea! this just in; try reading the man of property by John Galsworthy. he spends 3 pages describing a hat (if that doesn't put you to sleep, I'm afraid we'll have upgrade to animal tranks --but I think the book will put anyone out, quickly...the smaller print, the better).
