Yesterday I got my hair cut.
The plan was to get a super short pixie cut, a la Audrey Hepburn in Sabrina, or Mia Farrow in Rosemary's Baby. Like I had when I was little.
So I was in the subway looking at a magazine called "Short Hair" for a pic to bring in. When I commented to my friend that I couldn't find any pics of the cut I wanted, this girl interrupted me. She had the EXACT cut I wanted!!!!! Sort of an updated pixie. She, of course, was STUNNING (I later found out that she is a model/actress and one of her TV ads is currently running). She told me that I HAD to go to Lillo, that he was the ONLY stylist in NYC that really knows how to cut short hair, and gave me his info.
So I went to Lillo...
Expecting to walk out looking like her. You know how that goes! A few snips here, and 20 pounds vanish, a few snips there, and four inches of height suddenly appear...
He was AMAZING, I must say. I have never had my hair cut in that way before! But he talked me out of the pixie. Or rather, he gave me a sort of hybrid b/w the pixie and the cut I had before. So now it's really short in the back, but still kind of long in the front, like around my ears. (If my digital was working, I'd post a pic. But it broke when I put it in my back pocket. It's too small and thin to withstand my ass, apparently!
) Anyway, it's stylish and cool for the summer, so I'm happy. For Lillo's prices
, I'd BETTER be!
So here is my latest advice to the world:
Be careful what you wish for.
More on that later...
Happy Friday!!!!! And come get drunk with me this weekend!
