So about an hour ago I ran out to Sephora (makeup emergency) and as I was walking down 34th St., a convoy of fire engines came screaming up the street to the Empire State Building. The firemen piled out and before I could see how hot they were, they tore into the building. I looked up, and there was smoke pouring out of the top of it. Pandemonium ensued! You can imagine the reaction of folks on the street...

So now, there's still smoke trickling out of the windows of a top floor, but the fire engines have left, the building still stands and no one has a clue.

New York is always so exciting.
