How can I convince you it's me I don't like
And not be so indifferent to the look in your eyes
When I've always been distant
and I've always told lies for love
I'm bound by these choices so hard to make
I'm bound by the feeling so easy to fake
None of this is real enough to take me from you
Oh I've got reservations
about so many things
but not about you
I know this isn't what you were wanting me to say
How can I get closer and be further away
From the truth that proves it's beautiful to lie
I've got reservations
about so many things
but not about you
I've got reservations
about so many things
but not about you
not about you
not about you
not about you
not about you
*sigh* I love that song.
Last night I saw wilco at Radio City Music Hall. Oh, they were soooooooo good!!!! I LOVED the show!
It was my first show there. It's beautiful inside! Our seats were behind the sounds board and I must admit, I have never heard better sound at a concert.
A funny thing: towards the end of the show, Jeff Tweedy (who would SO be my crush if 1) he weren't married and 2) Jack Black weren't single !) called on the audience to make sure and vote in November. He then proceeded to recommend having an open mind, and voting for someone other than Bush...! (And if not, seeing a therapist!) So the two guys next to me were apparently R's and one said, "HE'LL never be invited back to this city again!"
WhawhaWHAT????? Since WHEN is NYC a Republican enclave????? Where have I been living????
Tomorrow I leave for DC for a four day genetics conference (yawn) which is really just a giant excuse to get together w/ colleagues that I haven't see since last year. Things I'm looking forward to this weekend:
-- Doing all my laundry for free
-- Staying in my old house
-- Seeing my white kitty again
-- Going to the Chris Smither show on Friday
-- Going to the Cramps show on Saturday
-- Getting away for a few days
-- Dropping in on W to tell him what a superb job he's doing
Today I had a political argument w/ a physician (one of my clients). I tried so hard not to take the bait, to sound apolitical, but I caved to his goading. I have such a hard time keeping my mouth shut sometimes...
