Well I failed to lose the 20 pounds before the wedding, but guess what, I had a great time ANYWAY!!!!!
It was really awesome to see the bride. I hadn't seen her in three years since she moved to LA! We have been friends for 12 years, since I lived in the 'Burgh. She then followed me to DC and we even worked together for a year...
She was a stunning bride. A size 0 (!), but in spite of that, GORGEOUS. Model gorgeous. She looks like a cross between Audrey Hepburn and Claire Forlani. The wedding was small, very tasteful, not too religious, excellent food, open bar (although I did not partake other than a bit of champagne for the toast), no stupid traditions like throwing flowers or garters or chicken dances... It was great to hang out with three of my good friends from DC just for a few days.
Although overall Hilton Head SUCKS. It was my 3rd time there. Unless you golf or love the beach, there's not much to do. I have golfed exactly twice in my life following a summer of lessons. Long, dreadful story for another time. And I HATE the beach in the summer. There is no end to the irritation: unbearable heat, unlimited sweating, sunburn, stinging salt water, jellyfish, sand in EVERYTHING, annoying children, etc. etc. etc. Did I mention sunburn? Of course, I AM genetically programmed for sun aversion, so perhaps this affects my opinion...
It's really good to be home. I am out of town the next two weekends as well, so I kinda feel like the summer is already over for me.

p.s. I found a place of my own. In Brooklyn. Hopefully I'll move in November. I am looking forward to that new phase in my life. Hopefully I will be able to break some old, destructive and often painful habits. Because they are not breaking themselves.

Doubley good for you about a solo shack in brooklyn! Solo is the way to go!
Oh, and you look dastardly unstopable in Skryche's shots!
Ps - I just read - are you organizing something for the Trash Can Sinatra show in NYC?????!!

Nope, not officially sgny, I think I got lost in the name tag shuffle..
I'm SO all over the TCS show if you're getting folks together - you can already count me in, it's on my calendar! Just hearing them in concert sorta reminds me of those WLIR Mega-Shows from the late 80s, like the New Order/PIL/Cure show, etc...I guess its just the randomness of this band...or my mind, or both...
Y~
