I had debated on wether or not to make this post, but I did in my myspace profile, so it's only fair I do it here too, I suppose.
I haven't posted in a while, but this time its not because of work, or some awesome new girl, or any of that. My father is dying. Slowly, and painfully, I am losing him. I say this not to be melodramatic, but merely accurate. If anything, I'm understating it.
I don't have too much time or energy to go into details, but in short, my father has had heart and kidney problems for the last 20 years, and they've finally taken their toll. His right kidney is 100% calcified, his left 55% and not functioning. His Aorta and Aortic valve are calcified. His Femoral artery is almost completely obstructed. His liver is producing too many enzymes, and even if all of that weren't happening, his left foot has gangreen, and needs to be amputated at the knee. THere's more to it, but I think that speels it out.
I won't be on here much until things settle down. I wasn't going to post anything, but i know there are a couple of readers, and I just don't have the time to hunt down everyone's numbers and fill them in.
There's som uch i have to say about it, but I can't really articulate it. I don't think I will until after he passes, and even then it will be impossible to figure out.
That said, I have some pretty amazing friends and family to fall back on. They've made me smile and kept me sane, and I'm eternally grateful.
