Long blog ahead....you are hereby warned.
So I call my Mom to make sure she got her package of Christmas packages I sent back to PA.
An hour and a half of drama ensues.
Sister is a control freak....won't immunize her baby...who can only eat vegan stuff...is sick all the time...(the baby)...sister is marrying her boyfriend for the tax benefits and his insurance..(they fight like Ike and Tina) so this ought to seal her doom.
Mom bitches about babysitting my niece...bitches about my sister some more and bitches about her boyfriend. Tells me how she cried for 45 minutes over the photo DVD I sent her because she misses me so. Bitches some more, tells me she is on 200mg of morphine a day for her back (4 back surgeries) and she is eating Vicodin like candy.
She tells me how much my sister breaks her back waitressing and is hardly making any money. Then she asks me if I like my job. I sent her pictures of Bob's on the DVD I made her.
I love my job I tell her. I have the best customers, the best coworkers, and I just love it. Plus the money is great.
Thankfully, Annie calls and interrupts...asks if I can come into work to finish her shift, as she is not feeling well.
Sure I say. Glad to be off the phone with my Mom and happy for something to do today to fill the time.
At work, it's sunny..busy and cheerful.
One of the morning regulars comes in and we banter about the weather. Says he hasn't seen me in awhile (because I haven't been filling in on mornings for about a month now). He tips me $10, says he hopes I have a nice holiday.
A few more regulars come in, 89.3 is playing great music, my man is at home...we'll grocery shop later.
I love my life. I love my stress free, drama free life.
I love the man in my life, the life we have together.
The great sex we've had the past two nights in our new bed, lined with flannel and warmth.
The family we have created.
The family of friends that we have in our life.
I am lucky.
Today I have been reminded...No matter what the future holds for me...it can never be as bad as what's come before my life began here in Minneapolis. I am surrounded by positive energy and light, strong beautiful love and all that is good in the world.

Strange I miss such a positive blog. It is refreshing to read - thank you. I wanted to know who Bob is and how he has warmth and sun.
