It's just a horse-girl story in space... one star, she said.
Friends... love 'em!
So I made this:
The weird thing is I'm writing 'spaceship sci-fi' and it's hard to get women to pick that up and read it because, let's be honest, the sub-genre is dominated by 'dudes go shooty-shooty' and a readership known for toxicity.
The weird thing is, I'm writing women with agency in a character driven story and I'm actually proud of the fact this in the entire first book, there's only one discharge of a hand-held firearm, so getting the usual crowd to pick that up and read it hard...
You see my problem.
So maybe my friend was right and what she said is exactly how I need to pitch it. It's a horse-girl story, but the horse is a sentient spaceship... basically the same thing, right?
So here's book 1: Horse-girl learns to help... in space.
Sapphic horse-girl story but the horse is a sentient spaceship and together they help solve an interplanetary conspiracy in stead of entering a gymkhana. - Found family - Character driven - Spaceship punches a building
And here's book 2: Horse girl learns to care... in space.
Sapphic horse-girl story with sentient spaceship continues as they try to uncover the truth behind a new religious cult while Ellie uncovers a secret about herself. - Revenge arc - Fall outs - A spaceship punches a moon.
